So I wasn't really expecting a sequel to The Everything Box; The Wrong Dead Guy caught me a little off-guard. That said, I loved the concept of the Men-in-Black-esque DOPS, even if I didn't love all the characters, so I figured I'd give this one a whirl. Plus, mummies. I mean, duh.
Since I forgot to write a Best Of list for 2016, I decided to put together a list of all the books I'm super excited about this year. Most of them are sequels to books I've read previously (I'm sure I will find some lovely new authors and books to sweep me off my feet at some point), but these are the books currently at the shut-up-and-take-my-money level of excitement.
I've never read any of Richard Kadrey's other work, but when I saw The Everything Box being compared to Christopher Moore's novels (which I love), I knew I would have to pick it up.Boy, I'm glad I did.
